And, I reply:  I sure did.  Guess it's time to get a new pair of glasses :)
Not only did I miss the point, I also missed the model of his Mac.  I called it
a G4 - when I clearly saw it was a G3 in his post.  Oh well, guess it's time to
take a break and relax while I'm waiting on that new pair of glasses ;) 

Blake emailed me on my missing the point also and I replied with a few
alternative suggestions very close to what you also suggested David.
