Re: Deja ][

Penman announced:

"FYI, I just saw Deja ][ posted on the Trenco FTP site.
It's listed under the name OpenPhoenix. Apparently, all
of the source code, as well as the distribution disk is
included in the archive."

And I reply: Yes, that is indeed correct. It's a Mac Stuffit self-extracting
app - archived in an .hqx. It's a biggie - almost 3MB's.
The src. code is included with the archive as well as all versions thru 1.2b1 -
full documentation is also included in the archive and it is a
freeware release. Deja ][ versions included in the archive can run on
both 68k Mac's and PPC Mac's.

You will need AppleWorks v5.1 to use Deja ][ on your Mac. It's a great
AppleWorks emulator program, featuring many TimeOuts with it also.
It's very user friendly as a Mac application and I prefer using it, rather
than using AppleWorks via an Apple II and/or Apple IIgs emulator on my
Mac's.

The exact URL for downloading follows:

Archive: ftp://trenco.myrias.com//pub/apple2/emulators/openphoenix.sea.hqx

Documentation/Info text file:
ftp://trenco.myrias.com//pub/apple2/emulators/openphoenix.txt

or

ftp://gno.org//pub/apple2/emulators/openphoenix.sea.hqx
ftp://gno.org//pub/apple2/emulators/openphoenix.txt

I'm sure it will soon be available from most all of the other
Apple2 ftp sites also.

AppleWorks v5.1 will also soon be available in ShrinkIt archive
format from select Apple2 sites for public access, needs and
download. Stay tuned on this. Apple Computer has been contacted concerning
this and has expressed no objections.

Cheers & Happy Holidays,
Tom
