It's not auto insert, it's auto inject...don't know for certain about the
512, but every other machine listed should be auto inject, as are the
Apple Unidisk 3.5 and the Apple 3.5 drive used with the IIgs.  I seem to
think that the IIc+ is also auto inject.

Auto inject is a Sony patented extra for 3.5" drives that pulls a floppy
into the drive once it gets past a certain point.  A lot more elegant
than sticking your finger into the drive to make sure the disk seats 
itself.  Apple stopped using these drive (which did the 800K in hardware)
and switched to cheaper drives when everyone was complaining about the
replacement cost of drive from Apple.  Then people started complaining
about the new drive (which controls the drive to get 800K via softare).
