Thank you David for your answer.
I was confused in my prior testing by the BUSY level that is high when
the cable isn't connected to anything. Therefore, nothing I trie to
PRINT was transmitted to the cable. Today, everything became clear.
(It feels good to think there are still that many people excited about
Apple IIs around the world.)
