Re: Apple 3.5" Diskettes
I used to use high density disks in an 800k drive without difficulties
Then a few years ago I took on the position of IIgs software librarian
for our user group. Most people that wanted a copy of something from
our library would usually bring their own disks, many of which were
high densitty. Usually they worked fine but there were a number of people
that had problems. The most spectacular falure was for one fellow. He
copied 6 disks. When he got home one was unreadable, by the next afternoon
5 were unreadable. Nowadays I only use double density disks in 800k drives.
And given that most people no longer use them and are happy giving them
away, I can't see any great need to use high density disks except in a
superdrive.
