AppleWorks 5.1 allows the use of keypad keys and function keys to perform
programmed tasks. Some knowledge of UltraMacros programming is required to set
this up (actually... quite a bit of knowledge is required, but numerous how-to
articles have been published on this subject).

For example, I use F7 to check spelling and F8 to use the thesaurus. F15 saves
the file to its original directory, and home, end, page down, printscreen, etc.
all do what they say. I keep the numeric keypad as numeric, but if I wanted to
use them as auto-keys, I could. For AppleWorks 3.0 and 4.3, use UltraMacros 4.3
(JEM's "Ultra 4.1/4.2") to do this. For AppleWorks 3.0 with UltraMacros 3.1, a
specific poke is required - it's in the manual.
