I can remember a program called something like "APPLE SKETCH" maybe
included on the first master disk 3.2 (around 1978) that allowed one to
draw using the game paddles. The program was probably written in integer
basic and used lowres graphics. You could change the color of the drawing
using one of the paddles button, the other button would erase the screen.
If you agree to call this a paint program, this would surely be the first
one ever released on any Apple computer.
