     If just the mouser cursor is stuck (instead of the whole system being
locked up), it may be that something has turned OFF access to the mouse
firmware. (The old game you were running may have done this. A "BAT RAM"
battery on the verge of cratering might mess up Control Panel settings.)

     Try going to the Control Panel-- press OpenApple-Control-Escape and select
"Control Panel". Now, select "Slots". Slot 4 should be set to "Mouse Port". If
it is not, cursor down to Slot 4 and press the Left or Right arrow key.

     Common mouse-specific hardware problems are a really dirty mouse (see
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2KBPADJS.html#020 ) and a loose connection
to the mouse socket on the keyboard.
