Need help identifying this card...

Ok, another foray has gained me another bunch of obscure old apple stuff.
One thing which has puzzled me is this. It came from a big batch of Apple
II stuff (and some Apple III stuff) and the guy said it 'came from an
apple'...
Card has 'Z-RAM' on it on the center.
16 socketed chips labeled
(V logo sort of like the viacom logo) 9105
   V53C100AP10
one capacitor
1 40-pin socket
bottom of card has a 40-pin connector on it (looks like it is inserted
directly in a chip socket of some kind)
18-pin ribbon cable connecting to a small module which looks like it plugs
piggyback on top of a PLCC socket

It has me stumped because I can't think of any 8-bit apples which had PLCC
socketed chips. Perhaps the IIc? not sure. Or is it something which adds
to a secondary card? Dunno. Any light shed on this would be cool.
