TWGS oscillator

What corner does the little dot on the oscillator need to face? Top-right?
it is missing the oscillator, so if put one in wrong, could harm be done?

I am told The board was working at 6Mhz. (w/ a 25?) but as I will need to
go buy one I wanted to try something higher. 

{My zipGS took a 40 w/ no problem}

Does it matter what rev. the TWGS is? This one says 1.4x 8H on the chip.
