IIe color problem...

While setting up a friend's IIe, we noticed that when booting a color
game, it doesn't come up in color but in black and white.  Hooking up my
IIc to the monitor and booting the game there, the game comes up in full
color so I know the AppleColor Compsite monitor is working fine as is my
IIc.

Why would the IIe only have black and white?  Is there anything that needs
to be reset inside?  It's an enhanced IIe from 1986 (date on
motherboard).
