CMS SCSI Part 2

I checked the Hard Disk FAQ again on the CMS SCSI jumper settings.
It does and it doesn't tell me what they are for.  In other words
what it says doesn't mean anything to me.  But I tried the listed
default settings and the example settings, both were different than
what the card was set when I found it.  Now instead of telling me
"No Device" when I try to test or format, it tells me the format
either failed or was halted but I still get "No Device" when I try
the test option.  I'm using CMSSCSI.SYSTEM.  Am I limited to certain
type of scsi drives?  Does anyone have any ideas on what to check next?
I also created a GS/OS boot disk with the SCSI drivers on it but it
doesn't see the drive.  I'd really like to get this working.
