Help! No-Slot-Clock & Apple IIc+
Need some more help!!!
I installed the Smartwatch without a problem. The computer boots up and runs
fine so I'm assuming that the chip was installed properly. However, the
Smartwatch software (SWU.SYSTEM) doesn't "see" the chip thus giving me a
message that the Smartwatch clock is not installed. I already verified that
I have the correct chip so I'm assuming that I'm did something wrong when I
"patched" the ProDOS operating system.
In the Smartwatch software instructions, it states to do the following:
BLOAD PRODOS, TSYS, A$2000
BLOAD P8.PATCH.5E80, A$5E80
>using the monitor locate and change the JMP $0800 address to $5E80
BSAVE PRODOS, TSYS, A$2000, E$5FFF
I think that the lines above loads the ProDOS operating system at A$2000
then loads P8.PATCH.5E80 at A$5E80. I didn't know what to do with the third
line did so I didn't do anything. I figured that the fourth line saves a
new ProDOS that is a combination of the original PRODOS with the appended
P8.PATCH.5E80.
The save command worked but the computer is not recognizing the chip so I
think my mistake is with line 3:
>using the monitor locate and change the JMP $0800 address to $5E80
I guess I need to hack PRODOS and find the code that says "JMP $0800" and
change it to say "JMP $5E80." If this is the case, I need help in doing
so...I don't know what program to use to hack PRODOS. If I'm not suppose to
hack PRODOS, then please let me know what I need to do in order to have my
computer / operating system recognize the chip.
On the flip side, if anybody has a NSC chip installed on their computer, I
would appreciate it if you can send me your working "patched" PRODOS file.
I'm currently using Prodos 8 v.2.0.3 but any version would be appreciated -
the latest version would be preferred.
Any help anybody?
