Don't forget that these people don't know exactly their options or legal
rights firsthand , they rely on immigration attorneys , which always try to
maximize their profits . That means when you got a client , don't take him
straight to what he needs . Get him an H1B , apply every year for a
temporary work permit , and only when you reach the maximum legally allowed
for the H1B plus extensions, you move one step ahead and file for the GC .
Of course the employer has something to say here, since he's paying the
attorney and is not particularly in any big rush to solve the foreigner's
problem and set him free in the big ol' US of A . Smells a bit like modern
slavery ?
