Any HP brand printer, whether it's a DeskJet or LaserJet, that
includes support for HP's Printer Control Language (PCL) will work just
fine on an Apple II.
Looking at HP's web site, I see that the DeskJet 855c is a PCL printer,
so yes, it'll work with AppleWorks. Since it is a Parallel printer,
you'll need to connect it to the Grappler.
Support for the DeskJet is built into both AW 4.x and 5.x.
In order to use the DJ from GS/OS, you'll need Harmonie, a $20 package
that includes GS/OS drivers for HP (and other) printers. You'll also
probably want Pointless, another $20 package, that'll allow you to use
TrueType fonts with GS/OS.
Both Harmonie and Pointless are available from Shareware Solutions II. To
