While it uses the same bus, only short Apple II cards will fit in an Apple
III.  Native Apple III cards are tall and square.

To my knowledge, the only SCSI card that will work in a III is a modified
Xebec Sider card.  "On Three" used to sell these cards, but I think they
are out of business.

And please don't gut any ProFiles.  Use a proper SCSI case if you want a 
SCSI drive.
