Ok, the problem seems to be formatting a Profile
drive for use on an Apple III.  I would recommend
an Apple III user gut the Profile and replace the
innards with an SCSI drive and SCSI cable
connectors.  The III user should then get an
Apple High Speed SCSI card.  The major Apple
III user group has Apple High Speed SCSI drivers
for the III, so with them the III can use SCSI.

Faster.  Larger capacity.  New life for the III.  And,
low level formats on demand!
