The DaynaFile was a 5.25" drive mechanism which connected to the SCSI
port on Macs and was not (to my knowledge) for the Apple II family. I
recall using DaynaFiles with early SEs and Mac IIs which would place
them at around 1987/8. The drives were manufactured for a number of
years. The manufacturers, Dayna, are now owned by Intel but their web
site (http://www.dayna.com/) had some information until recently.
