It's cheaper to buy a new printer with ink in it already than it is to
get replacement ink cartridges.... I guess that's ok, because the
printers are full of gears, stepper motors, all kinds of great stuff.

Or buy a laser printer, they are way cheaper to run and easier to fix (IMHO of doing repairs for years). I picked up a used HP Color Laserjet 3700dn for cheap.... with a full set of toner. It works great, and duplexing is a nice thing to have. Its slightly older so its got a trusty parallel interface, USB, and a JetDirect card that supports Appletalk and just about every obscure network printing protocol. It talks PCL5c/6 and Postscript 3, you can print from a IIgs using a localtalk to ethernet adapter (B&W only, Laserwriter driver limitation). The new TreeHugger TCP/IP printing CDev also works great with it too... now I just need color printer drivers.
