Re: help ][e series

I upgraded my IIe to a IIgs around 1988. About a year later when I
finally got some extra hardware to actually use it as a IIgs instead
of a fast IIe I discovered that there is one small problem with the
upgrade. The IIe case gets in the way of installing a card into a
piggy back connector of a card in the memory expansion slot.

I bought a memory card and a CheckMate Technologies Memory Saver and
couldn't install the Memory Saver and my memory card at the same time.
By the time I got around to buying a IIgs case as a replacement part
from an Apple dealer, I already had a hard drive so I never did get to
use the Memory Saver. I still have it in its original box sitting on
the shelf behind me.

I'm not sure where my upgraded IIe case went. I traded the IIe
keyboard for a Mac SE French Canadian ADB keyboard long before I got
the IIgs case but if I can find it again, I could put a ROM1
motherboard in it and replace the IIe keyboard.
