You'll find 4 mb chips on SIMMs but not likely to find 'em loose.

Doubt it since you can't put 1 mb chips in 256K sockets.

Why anyone would need 16 mb in a //e is beyond me, but I expect that the
expansion card needed to put 4 mb chips in a //e never made it into production.
The IIgs was established by '87 so plenty of stuff supposedly coming out got
nixed after that.
