The RGB monitor will improve DHR, but you'll still need
to set the Laser for monochrome mode. That's because
of the way DHR works. Try it on the IIGS. Even on the
IIGS, for monochrome DHR to work right, you need to
set display to monochrome.

It will, however, offer much improved text because the
character set is solid relative to the one in a real Apple II
or in a Laser 128EX/2 displaying on a composite monitor.

Uh-oh. It should work in the external slot. Try another
Apple II card. I hope the slot is not burned out.

I'm in the process of building an extender for the slot,
taking out the 3.5" drive, and putting the Focus in its
place.

The 128EX/2 was indeed sold with an optional 5.25"
drive configuration. I think most 128EX/2s were sold
with the normal 3.5" configuration, though, because
otherwise it was not that different from a plain EX
(except for clock, battery backed control panel
preferences, a better UDC, and MIDI).

Yes, but I'd imagine your 5.25" internal drive is a lot
heavier than my 3.5" internal drive. ;-)

If I'm successful in installing a Focus drive inside,
it'll get even lighter.
