DuoDisk and 3.5" drive questions

Ok I picked up a DuoDisk drive at the local thrift store and when I went to
test it the drive worked fine by itself but not in a chain. dose the DuoDisk
not support a chain or is it just this drive? I have 3 3.5" drives that need
the heads aligned and was wondering how you go about that. If I send them
away it cost $39.00 to get done, but I can buy another drive on e-bay for
$10 so If they're going to get fixed I have to do it.
