I can sympathise with both sides here -- the bottom line's important,
but so is the degree of frustration and/or aggravation that a
particular technology causes...
As someone who spends about 50% of my time dealing with the low-level bits
of RTOS implementation, I have my favourite CPUs and the ones I'd never want
to touch with a bargepole again. In a straight choice between two equally
convivial, stimulating and economically rewarding working environments,
I'd probably use choice of technology as a deciding factor. For example,
if the choice lay between a shop working on PowerPCs and one on ARMs I
know where I'd be headed...
