_If_ you have a bootable DOS 3.3 diskette, you can boot it, get to the
usual Applesoft "]" prompt, insert a new diskette, and enter ...

INIT HELLO

This will create a new bootable DOS 3.3 diskette. The startup program placed on
the new diskette will be whatever BASIC program was in memory at the time you
typed in INIT HELLO and the program will be named "HELLO". (For more about DOS
3.3 commands see http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2DOSMM.html .)

If you have no diskettes with a bootable DOS, I do not know for sure what
your options might be with a IIe Card. (On a PC with a Trackstar board, you
could download a couple "Trackstore" disk images and have both DOS 3.3 and
ProDOS ready to go.)

On your LC, perhaps you can create a virtual ProDOS hard disk for your IIe
and move downloaded files to the IIe 'hard disk'. If you can, you could
download and move Apple II BASIC.SYSTEM, PRODOS, and self-extracting 8-bit
ShrinkIt there and be ready to download and unshrink .sdk whole disk files to
diskettes in your 5.25" drives. This would get you DOS 3.3 and just about
everything else available for IIe.

Of course, you can always ask some regular poster to send you a few
diskettes with getting started stuff. Expect to pay $3-$5 to cover mailing and
materials costs.
