I have to agree with the above. I now use a Mac a LC630 (DOS compatible) and
two PowerMac 6360's in my business but I still treasure my IIGS which has a
RAM Fast SCSI a High speed SCSi card a Hi density drive card it only runs at
just over 9mhz, a 1meg ram card I also have but not fitted a CP?/M board and
a PC card. The potential of this machine was unbeleivable. It was a shame it
was never supported by APPLE its potential was such that it would have blown
the early Mac's away. unfortunately it is history now. and Jobs has done this
awain with the 680x0's and the early 603-603-604 Power Macs the new OS will
not run on them.

With the LC630 I have it is like the Apple II machines I can only run 8.1 and
it is the last OS that will be issued for it. OS9 will only run on the G3 and
up (don't quote me on this on) I think.

The rants that go on on this newsgroup, do nothing to support the Apple II
comunity and I usually do not comment on them. But can we afford to lose
more tallented people from our ranks.

I am getting more and more people come to me for help with II's and IIGS's as
the schools here in Australia shed finally there old II's and IIGS's. I am
ordering 4 Focus hard drives for them at the moment. If we lose too much
knowledge from the pool that exist we will die as a group. It is only the
internet that has enabled us to continue to exist.

Becasue we are small in number without the internet to communicate, the II
comunity would have died long ago. Let us just agree to disagree. Please
pretty please. If we do not, we are like an out of ballance flywheel, and we
will tear ourselves to pieces. We are an endangered species. In Australia we
are unable to access Delphi and AOL so any reports there are not seen by a
lot of Apple II users.
