That's a smart way of looking at it. At first, I tried to change the
system, but like you, I found out that it was an impossible task.

I try to intercept new IIGS users as they come in and bombard
them with a data packed IIGS tour. I post that fact sheet to all
new IIGS csa2 users (and to IIc Plus and Laser 128 series ones)
hoping that they'll see csa2 in a good light. It seems to have
largely worked.

I too agree with Beverly's sentiment, but I try to bring the
knowledge TO the new users before they discover the flame
wars themselves.

Somehow, I think Nathan did the same except that after awhile,
he started combining his helpfulness with his flame wars.
Whoever was right or wrong, this lead to him attacking many
new users who have never even heard of Charles Turley or him.

Unlike Nathan, my goal is to show new users the facts about
the IIGS with courtesy rather than bitterness. In the end, this
is what will make the happy IIGS user, I think. As for the flame
wars, ignore, ignore and ignore is the best any of us can do.
