I've stopped mentioning FORTRAN as of this job search because I don't want
to use it. While I've got over 10 years of paid experience with FORTRAN,
the jobs I see with it won't help me on later job hunts.

Well, you've got to admit that that it's not easy. The ratio of
"recruiters" to "head hunters", where a "recruiter" knows what's what and
a "head hunter" just looks for keywords, is very low, which doesn't help
either.
