It's intended for older IIes. I use mine with my "stealth GS." Your keypad
should've come with an adapter cable that installs inside the computer that
goes from the DB-15 (to be bolted to the back panel) to whatever type of
connector is on the motherboard (some kind of single in-line connector, but
I don't remember how many pins).

Not from Apple...the Color Monitor IIe was a composite monitor. With an
analog RGB card (usually an add-on for a memory card such as a RamWorks),
you could use the AppleColor RGB. I think the Apple II Video Overlay Card
will also allow you to hook up an RGB monitor...in fact, it has the same
graphics hardware as the IIGS, so it might be a way to boost the graphics
capability of your IIe. Some RGB cards also provided digital RGB, which you
could use with any CGA monitor. A more recent development is the Second
Sight, which will let you use a readily-available VGA monitor. It's kinda
spendy, though. (For a IIGS, I'd recommend hunting around for an older VGA
monitor that syncs down to the GS's refresh rate all by itself...I use an
NEC MultiSync 3D with mine.)
