I'd have the dig out the manual. It is either the Line Feed or Form
Feed button. One of them puts it into hex dump mode, the other runs the
self test.
In both cases, hold the button down while turning the printer on. (If
it doesn't start printing the test page almost immediately, then turn it
off again and try with the other button.)
To stop the self test, turn the printer off again (it keeps printing the
character set in a cyclic pattern).
