Peter,

I purchased an Apple ][c a few weeks ago, and have been using it
flawlessly with ADT ever since.

If your Apple ][c has a printer, the serial printer cable for it is
already a Null modem cable, so you can plug it straight into your PC. If
your PC doesn't have a COM port of the right gender, then get a gender
converter or use the double ended end of a laplink cable (if you have one)
to do the conversion.

ADT is great, but if you need to transfer protected disks or disks with
strange formats, then you need to use SST in conjunction with ADT.

BTW, where abouts are you in Australia ?
