The best way to go is of course with Apple branded printers.
With the right drivers, I think you can run any Apple printer
Of course the same can be said for other brands of Mac
compatible printers.  It just that the Apple printers
(especially older ones) seem to have more drivers for them.
Can't help you with the TT fonts, but think you should
go ahead and get a nice Imagewriter II, Stylewriter, or
Personal Laserwriter for your IIgs.  Hope this helps.
