Zip Chip (8x faster than the stock CPU chip) IS a period
part. It was contemporary with GEOS.

IRQ card for GEOS is not needed if you have a mouse
card. Pull this one. The reason for the card is to
generate an interrupt for time slicing. The mouse card
provides the same interrupt. This is why GEOS can
work in a IIc, IIc Plus, Laser 128, 128EX, 128EX/2, and
IIGS without the IRQ card.

I'd replace this with a 1MB/80 col card. Check the
http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics web site
for more info.

This is why you don't need the IRQ card.

I'd add an 8Mhz ZipChip, especially if you intend to run
GEOS. I'd also add 1MB 80 col card from Alltech to
replace the 64k one. Speed and memory make GEOS
fast.

A 14.4k modem works extremely well with an Apple IIe.
Try to find one of these. The Super Serial Card's port
rate maxes out at 19200 baud, which is why using a
modem above 14.4k is not as useful. There IS a mod you
can still buy for the Super Serial Card...it clock-chips
the card up to baud rates of 230kbaud or so, but since
the IIe is going to log onto primarily BBSes and shell
accounts, it is perhaps best economics to stick with a
plain Super Serial Card and a 14.4k modem.

SCSI card in slot 7. Mouse card in slot 4. 3.5" controller
in slot 5. Super Serial Card for modem in slot 2. DuoDisk
card in slot 6. Clock card in slot 3. CP/M card should
thus go into slot 1.
