Thanks all, and especially you Mike! Second time you solved a problem
for me in a few days... if you're ever in northern Germany, tell me so I
can invite you to a beer or two.

Luckily after being sent from one place to the next three times in
Hannover, I've found a hardware store in a village near here where the
boss seemed to know his way around non-metric screws, and he said he'd
check his sources and order some for me if he can.
