Some of them I believe were a little too large to have been designed for a
laptop, but admittedly it did save power outlets (although their ADB
piggyback adaptor was notoriously loose and floopy in the ADB port on my
computer)

The Quadra 660av/840av introduced it, they had just one GeoPort...then the
PowerMacs came along and had 2 GeoPorts. Not that it was ever capitalized
on in the least (The GeoPort telecom adaptor, 2 or 3 modems that drew
power from it, that's about all I can remember). As for using it in a non
GeoPort...uh, port, there is a lip of metal on the plug to prevent you
from doing so. Some of the GV modems (TelePort Gold II, offhand) drew
power from the GeoPort as well, rather than ADB or an AC adaptor.
