Well, GeoWorks AOL on the PC can't do web browsing either and
yet AOL still lets those users sign on.  On the IIGS, they could
expand it to use TCP/IP via Marinetti and run a web browser like
SIS.

You can still actually log on with a IIGS or a IIe.  The catch is you
need to run the GeoWorks version of AOL via the PC Transporter
IBM XT emulator.
