Actually, AOL was AppleLink PE (for Personal Edition).

You know, I still may have the Apple IIe version of the software at
my parents...if I didn't get pissed and throw it away with a bunch of
other AOL things when they announced that they were cutting off Apple
II users.  It took me about an hour from when I first read that
announcement to when I had my account canceled, had a nasty gram
sent to Steve Case (anyone else out there also realize that Case
along with Scully were both PepsiCo higher ups?  I drink Coke(tm)),
and also wiped out all existance of the AOL software from my IIGS.
