Most people bought/use these because the rags say they should. Most ads
are for M$ (read windows now) products. This does not make them better.
Many people buy it because that's what their company or boss bought and
it's what they know. Many of these people won't even learn the features in
the software they use, likewise the don't want to bother learning something
better or different. The only good point I have ever been able to make about
MS is their unification of the PC for the masses. If you want a robust OS
with real multitasking (and too much more to mention) check out Linux. The
amount of software available is staggering and the majority is free. It's still
a little technical so it's not ready for todays average user who only runs a
word processor or surfs the net, but for those of us who like to know what
makes the thing work, it's great. The same thing I like about the Apple II.
