Re: SHK -> DSK on a PC - problems with DSK_CAT, etc
To explain Apple Oasis a little better. When you open the disk
manager program you are presented with a window similiar to
the explorer. Sort of. Any way select the disk on the left side
and open it. You will see any files and/or subdirectories (if P8)
on the right side. Hilight the file(s) you want to move then
select the cut icon from the toolbar. They have tooltips too.
Now select the directory to place the files and click the copy,
as noted in the last post work from a backup unless registered.
To copy to the disk just follow the same principals and copy
from the subdirectory to the disk. If these are prodos files then
I suggest you create a subdir on the disk unless it is just a few
files.
The disk manager can handle .dsk .nib .hdv .a4w files. I think you
may have to rename the .do and .po to .dsk. I don't remember off
hand but if you don't see the filename with a disk icon then it will
not open and you should rename it. .dsk for floppy size and .hdv for
800k or the few .hdv images on the net.
Note, you can also test the floppy dsk file by right clicking the
file and sending it to the emulator as long as you have no default
files setup to boot when the emulator starts.
Hope this info helps.
