There are two monitors which look really good on my IIe: the commodore 1701
(sometimes the 1702) and the commodore 1902a. These are both colour composite
monitors, which really bring the colours alive (unlike TVs). The 1701 also
has other advantages through its split luma and chroma signals, which you may
or may not notice on the II+ - but are real sharp on the IIe. The key here is
to hook-up the single video-out on your II+ to both the chroma and luma jacks
on the rear of the monitor.
These monitors were very common, and should be available at most any thrift
store for about CAN$20. Provided that they do not junk old computer stuff,
you will find one with a little patience.
Hope this helps,
