It would work, as long as you use a slow speed like 300 baud. When you
run the actual ADT program on the PC, make sure you are in MS-DOS (and
not in a "DOS prompt" window) for best performance.

For copy-protected disks, I believe your only option is SST, a hacked
version of EDD that creates .NIB files on the PC. I've never used it,
though.
