Well, I thought of that, except that when I did it it involved several
steps which I figured would be...difficult at least, for some. (Using a LC
III with a IIe card in it, using Bernie on a PowerMac, and a IIgs as
well...not everyone would have all the required 'equipment' and I'm not
sure how to explain it otherwise. Plus, I needed to monkey around a little
with HexEdit, if I remember correctly...or maybe it was Norton Disk
Editor...in order for it to not kick the disk out all the time) The other
idea I toyed with, was that if someone was to provide we with a proof of
their ownership of GEOS (like a picture of the first page of the manual,
or cover, or maybe of disk#1...) then I could send the image to them, and
they could perhaps install their kernal onto it, or I could figure some
way out...but even that seemed like a bit of a jump to make from point a
to b, as if I have all the rights to make and distribute such a decision.
Plus, then they could just go and share it around themselves if they
wished, and I'm sure someone would try to find a way to decieve me sheerly
for the sake of getting this 'rare' image for their collection. So, I
guess I really don't know what to do. I wanted to do this mostly for
people who owned GEOS and wanted to be able to run it more conveniently
(most versions of GEOS gripe about almost any hard drive) and yes, I guess
a small part wanted some people to be able to try it out and see it, but I
didn't want to cause trouble with it.
So...ah well, I'll think on it some more...and anyone who wants to add an
opinion, please do...
