Re: Softdisk

Legal status, etc., who cares? Don't they know we don't need support? All they
have to do is say "there will be no support." To give an example, Matt Reimer's
MiniPaint, published by JEM Software and a precusrsor to Platinum Paint, wasn't
included in Randy Brandt's releases because it was sold to Softdisk. So,
neither one will release it. There has to be an answer to this. Thanks for your
efforts, Tom."

And, I reply: Who care - is certainly a valid question we all await the answer
of :)
As to the MiniPaint program and it's Spectrum RGB Color adjustment NDA, that
archive
was released as freeware and is available as a ShrinkIt archive in the ACN
(cabi) mirror
ftp sites within the Graphics folder. How can you sell a freeware to SoftDisk
or anybody else for that matter?? As to - there has to be an answer to this,
most likely these
programs, disks and such could well end up like AppleWorks 5.1 has ended up on
the Asimov site. But, let's do hope SoftDisk can see fit to release them all
as freeware.

I'd also suggest we simply leave SoftDisk alone with email reply's about the
matter and just wait and see. If they do decide to release them all as
freewares they wil contact me
by email to inform me of such. And, I be relating any reply I receive from
them in email
promptly to this newsgroup.

Cheers,
Tom
