Well, I'm going to dispute that "fact".  :)

Apple made computers that were extremely easy to learn how to use with
the Apple II.  This was back when Apple bundled demo software and
wrote excellent manuals for their machines.

Microsoft got the word out to more people because of far more
agressive marketing but it is still harder to learn and use Windows
than it is just about anything else.
