The Grappler and all its variations is a parallel interface card and
is most commonly used to hook up printers that require a parallel
interface. I have a Grappler+ in my IIgs that I use to hook up a my
Epson LQ-1050 wide carriage.

The ImageWriter II requires a serial interface so you must use the
Super Serial Card or equivalent in an Apple IIe to use the ImageWriter
II. I use my IIgs' serial port to hook up my ImageWriter II.
