Re: Apple IIe memory card
I believe you're probably referring to the Apple II memory expansion
card not
a IIe specific card. This card would be part #670-0024. This is a card
that
fits into a regular slot as opposed to the auxilary slot. It also works
in
an Apple II, II+, IIe and IIgs. In a IIgs without a hard drive you could
use
it in slot 7 or alternately 1 or 2 as a RAM card if the slots set to
your
card. On a IIgs with a HD, the HD might be faster or not much slower
than
this card making it not worth using.
On a IIe it can be used in any slot except slot 3.
The card uses standard 256k x 1 dynamic RAM(DRAM) CAS before RAS
200 nanosecond or faster but you're unlikely to find anything too slow
for
this card. These chips have to be used in banks of 8. Junk PC boards
often
have lots of these chips and can usually be picked up for pennies.
Unfortunately each manufacturer has slightly different codes they use to
identify chips. Here's a few examples off some cards I have here in case
it helps
