I'll have to dig out my old hand written notes. I'd tried some off the net too,
but the problem I was having was a fried serial port. Once I changed the mother
board it went together easily.
I'll put something together for you though. I've found that all you really need
is these connected.

The //c doesn't do handshaking well.
Looking at the din cable end

to PC 9 pin
wire 2 to 2
wire 4 to 3
wire 3 to 5 - ground
That's all I used on mine with ADT and comm software as NULL Modem. I think
those connections are right. My notes are just scribbles on scrap paper from
when I made that thing. If you use the PC cable trick you will need something
to test which pin leads to which wire. I didn't have a tester handy so I took a
flashlight bulb, a battery, some tape and 2 pieces of wire and jury rigged my
own. Crude, but it worked.
