Yes. The early DeskJets had a serial port which was a simple plug-in to the
Apple //c and IIGS with a plain-old ImageWriter I (one) cable, which most
people already had. It was so easy it was almost laughable. (Unfortunately, it
no longer has this feature). This, plus perfect compatibility with AppleWorks
classic gave the HP DJ a great head start over other inkjets.
