Not to mention being limited to 19.2k. Telecom programs for the IIGS
would be pretty lame to use the Slot 2 firmware. Accessing the serial
chip directly, telecom programs can achieve the higher 56k port rate.
The Slot 2 firmware is crippled to be compatible with older, slower
serial ports of the older 8-bit Apple II units.
