Well, I removed the shielding from my IIGS case long ago so that some
tight fitting cards would fit better.  The shielding is there to comply with
FCC regulations in the USA (and probably something similar in Canada).

However, unless you turn on your unshielded IIGS in an airplane or
something, removing the case should cause no problems.  I do not
notice any interference with either my Windows 95 unit (in the same
room) or my television (in a different room).

Removing the shielding seems to stabilize the accelerator too.  Don't
ask me why.  Maybe mine was pressing against the shield.  Others
suggest that the shielding may have been reflecting the EMF from
the TWGS.
